Stray Dog Approaches Girl Who’s Lying Lifeless On The Ground

Amanda and Dylan heard about a lost, scared dog in a park and decided to do something about it. But it wouldn’t be easy. They went to great lengths to rescue the stray, as seen in the following photos posted to the Lost & Found Pets Wa State Facebook page:

The dog nicknamed Bear was starving and alone. The scared dog wouldn’t let anyone near.

“We spent an hour trying to coax him to us with food but it didn’t get us very far,” said Amanda. So they tried another idea.

She would lie on the ground faking an injury to see how Bear would react. He would pay attention for a bit, but then lose interest.

“Once he started to get uncomfortable, I curled up in a ball and stopped moving. The next hour was spent slowly inching closer and closer to Bear. By now, Dylan had pulled back up across the road to watch us, and was also warning cars that her insane girlfriend was laying on the side of the road and not to hit me.”

“Finally, I got right up next to Bear,” Amanda wrote. “He growled a little bit, so I started whimpering and yawning, which is a calming signal, and continued to slowly get closer and closer until I was rested up against the sweet little Baby Bear!”

Incredible! Bear cuddled up next to Amanda and stayed close to keep warm.

Bear was emaciated with bones and ribs sticking out. But they had earned his trust.

“This was the point in which he decided he never wanted to walk again,” she said. “From 9 pm on I had to carry him everywhere! I had to pick him up and put him in the truck and then we snuggled together until we got to the vet.”

Bear weighed in at 57 pounds, and they treated him for skin and ear infections. The next step would be to find his owners.

Amanda and Dylan did an amazing thing by having the patience to execute a plan that took hours to complete. They never gave up and their story deserves to be heard by all!
