Sadly, there are many sick and wounded dogs on the streets, and they are ignored by people daily. Mexico City has its fair share of strays, and that’s where this particular dog caught the eye of a passerby who couldn’t just let him be.
There are over a million stray dogs in Mexico City. But one in particular caught the eye of a passerby…
She couldn’t believe all of the people who just ignored this dog. Not only was he starving, his body was covered in cancerous tumors.
That’s when the dog was taken to animal rights activist Dalia Gamez who named him Boby. She took the dog to an animal hospital where they prescribed chemotherapy.
Boby went through eight sessions of chemotherapy within two months. It was especially difficult since he’d been starving for so long, and they weren’t sure he’d survive.
Boby not only survived, but he had a speedy recovery and grew a whole new coat!
Now Boby could be the dog he was born to be: an energetic and loving companion!
His story went viral and helped land him a home! It was hard to see Boby go, but she took comfort in the fact that he would live a normal, loving life.
What an unbelievably amazing transformation! Thanks to everyone involved who made it possible for Boby to overcome his troubled past. The future is bright! 🙂
