Celebrity Pleads To Spare Chihuahua From Euthanasia For Having Wrong Passport

Belgian martial artist and movie star Jean-Claude Van Damme took to social media to help a little Chihuahua facing some very unfair circumstances. The three-month-old puppy had been sold to new owners in Norway but was not allowed to be registered because of a fake Bulgarian passport. Bulgaria wouldn’t let the dog, Raya, back citing the European Union rules concerning the transport of animals meaning she faced euthanasia.

Van Damme posted some selfies to social media hugging his own Chihuahua begging them to change their minds.

“I beg, please, for my birthday, the food safety authority, change your decision.” he commented while launching a petition to save the Chihuahua.

“They made a mistake, the people who didn’t do the paper correctly… But they cannot kill that little Chihuahua,” he continued.

The message was received by the Bulgarian food safety authority, and they allowed Raya’s return saying she would receive a medical checkup and then be put up for adoption. Amazing! 🙂
