Animal control officer Michelle Smith set out to investigate a howling stray dog, and she had to hike down into a ravine to get to her. And that’s when she saw it: the dog was nursing a tiny kitten and acting as its surrogate mother!
Neither of them would survive there alone, so she took them to a local shelter. There, the five-year-old Shih Tzu still tended to the little kitty as if she were its mother. The two were inseparable! And amazingly, the dog hadn’t given birth but was actually lactating as a result of a “pseudo pregnancy.” This saved the kitten’s life. What a truly remarkable story!
