An adult elephant and fallen into a well and became trapped near Birtula village of Odisha’s Sundargarh district. Without help, it would die right there. But the locals came together to join forces with the forest and fire service departments to help rescue the magnificent beast.
The fire department supplied their long ropes to place around the elephant, and a large branch was used to secure it along the way. About two hours later, all of the hard work paid off as the elephant walked away freely and unscathed!
This was truly a community effort, and no one was about to give up until the elephant was saved. The cheering you hear when they finally pull it off says it all about the love and respect they have for these animals. So amazing to see!
