Animal Aid Unlimited received an emergency call about a stray dog on the streets with a large ear wound. It was a senior Golden Retriever with a big, trusting heart! But he needed treatment right away, so they quickly got him back to the hospital.
He wouldn’t have survived on his own like this much longer, so it was a good thing he was found when he was. They’d apply a powder to kill the maggots to be able to remove them, and then prep the dog for a procedure to remove all of the necrotic tissue.
The Golden oldie would need lots of love and care during his recovery process in this stage of his life, but he was strong and kept a smile through it all! Just wait until you see Floyd as happy and healthy as can be today. 🙂
