Homeless Man Goes To Hospital, But His Friends Don’t Let Him Go Alone

Healthcare worker Cris Mamprim and her colleagues at the Hospital Regional Alto Vale in Brazil got to witness something they’ll never forget when a homeless man was admitted for treatment. What they saw was pure love.

A homeless man named César admitted himself to the hospital to receive treatment and meds for a health problem he’s been dealing with. He normally attends another facility in town, so Cris and the other employees got to learn first hand about his story.

Even though the man may be homeless and without many material possessions, he doesn’t lack love or friendship. The staff realized when talking to him that he wasn’t alone. At the front door was his group of faithful furry friends awaiting his return. 🙂

They learned that the man cares for the dogs himself, often forgoing food for himself to make sure they are well fed.

“They are all well taken care of and chubby,” Cris told The Dodo. “Seeing them like that, waiting at the door, only shows how much they are cared for and loved.”

The dogs were patient and well-behaved but wouldn’t have to wait very long. César was getting squared away with his medication when the staff invited the dogs in to be with him. The hospital workers also offered food to the man and the dogs!

César was discharged after about an hour, and the dogs followed along as he left the hospital.

“He has the best companions with him,” Cris wrote. “I do not know what his life is like, or why he’s on the street, but I admire the respect and love he has for his little animals […] If only everyone were like this.”
