Imagine spending your life chained-up or caged outside with no way of escaping the elements. Trapped, scared, and isolated. You’re forced to eat, sleep, urinate, and defecate in the same tiny space. Well, that is the life of some dogs who are kept as pets, and they deserve better.
Dogs just want to be able to explore, exercise, and be part of a pack. But all of that is taken away by being tethered to a tree or doghouse. It’s extremely cruel, and a new law would ban 24/7 tethering and save many lives.
You can help. Contact your local elected officials and ask to meet with them in person. Some jurisdictions have already made chaining illegal, and you can help break the chain with an ordinance in your community.
Let’s be the voices that dogs don’t have and help give them the protection they deserve.
