This couple took in a deaf dog, and it totally changed their lives. They didn’t realize it at first, but this pup would give them purpose. Christina Lee and her husband already had three dogs but didn’t know how to care for a deaf puppy. They decided to go for it and took the beautiful boy in.
Nitro was pretty detached at first, and it caused his new owners to wonder if they were in over their heads. But when they found that it could be done, it convinced them to take in and save as many deaf dogs as possible. So they started a foundation to do just that.
They have financially sponsored over 350 deaf dogs that have come from kill shelters and special needs rescues, and the Deaf Dogs Rock organization has had a hand in over 3,000 adoptions now. Sadly, Nitro passed away in 2018, but his legacy and memory lives on as this couple continues to save the dogs no one else would give a chance.
