A dog named Pakita was taken to the Arca Animal refuge when found as a stray wandering the streets two years ago. Something was wrong with the dog as she seemed so withdrawn and sad at all times. And as the days went by, she was constantly passed over for younger dogs.
Pakita was depressed and not getting adopted, and the staff even found it difficult to take pictures of her. After they finally snapped a decent picture of her, they posted it to social media in hopes of finding a potential adopter. But little did they know Pakita already had a home…
It turns out she’d dug out of her owner’s yard two years ago and had been lost ever since. Her dad, Ariel Naveira, looked all over for her but with no luck. When he heard about the dog at the shelter, he arranged a meeting to see if it could really be her.
He arrived at the Arca Animal refuge, and the dog was a bit hesitant when brought out to meet Ariel. He knew right away it was his long lost dog, but she didn’t seem so sure. That’s when Pakita sniffed him out, and it hit her: this was her Dad! Their happy reunion was now underway. 🙂
