A pit bull was found abandoned at a dumpster in the Knoxville area, and Pittsburgh Police are investigating. The scared dog was all alone amongst the frozen trash and had nowhere to turn. She sat in a crate which was placed on top of the dumpster for trash pickup.
Animal control rushed the pit bull to Humane Animal Rescue in Homewood where they were able to locate the owners. The two-year-old dog is in overall decent shape, but it’s clear she has been used for breeding.
Officers are still investigating but considering charging these owners with animal cruelty. Meanwhile, the pup is in good hands with the Humane Animal Rescue staff and receiving all of the love and care she needs. If she isn’t ultimately returned to her owners, she’ll be put up for adoption.
