Simba the pit bull lives with his owner, Arjanit M., in their apartment. And despite being a friendly and sweet dog, many people in the building look down on him and go out of their way to avoid him all because he’s a pit bull. But one selfless act would have these very people thinking different.
One older woman who lives a floor below would always give Simba looks and say he’s mean. But the pit bull was just always trying to befriend her. And the other day on the way back home from a walk, Simba stopped at her door and wouldn’t move. That’s when a voice could be heard from inside saying, “Please don’t go.”
Arjanit opened the door and peered inside to see the neighbor on the floor. It turned out she’d broken her hip a few days prior and was unable to move. Simba sensed that her life was in danger and let his owner know.
Simba and his owner waited for the ambulance to arrive, and the woman thanked the dog for saving her life. Everything she thought about this pit bull had changed in an instant, and Arjanit hopes the story makes people see the breed through a different lense from now on. It would be nice, wouldn’t it? 🙂
