Thanksgiving Foods To Avoid Giving Your Dogs

Thanksgiving is almost here, and that means having lots of yummy food at our disposal. And dogs will be dogs, and those sniffers will be working overtime as our houses fill with those wonderful smells! But as much as they may beg for some of what you’re having, lots of these holiday foods are not good for them.

According to the American Kennel Club, these are the foods to avoid giving your furry friends:

-Turkey skin, bones & gravy
-Casseroles
-Stuffing
-Mashed potatoes
-Creamed peas
-Any chocolates, cookies, pies & other sweets
-Raisins/grapes
-Onions, scallions & garlic
-Ham
-Yeast dough
-Any foods containing spices
-Any fatty foods
-Alcoholic beverages, of course

That’s a big list, but there are also a few things that are fine to feed your dogs. Turkey meat is perfectly fine as long as you remove and skin and bones. Pumpkin is also safe and healthy, just not the pre-spiced pie mix stuff.

Happy Thanksgiving and be safe! 🙂
